Paraiba Tourmaline is one of the most dazzling and sought-after gemstones in the world, famous for its intense neon glow that seems to light up from within. First discovered in the late 1980s in Paraíba, Brazil, these gems owe their striking color to trace amounts of copper and manganese, a combination unique among tourmalines.
The original Brazilian stones are exceptionally rare, with later deposits found in Mozambique and Nigeria showing similar vibrant colors. True Paraiba Tourmalines are prized for their “electric” blue-to-green hues, high transparency, and exceptional brilliance.
